Medical Technologies

  Need:

Chyma Systems is a robust online application allowing physicians to schedule on-call shift work, trade shifts and communicate with peers and hospital administration. Chyma needed to raise its profile within the medical community to increase adoption as an administrative application of choice.

Enlightened Communications Solution:

A multi-tiered approach was designed to provide maximum exposure for Chyma to healthcare professionals. First, specific industry trade journals were selected based on their demographics within the medical community. Articles with case studies by physicians were written for publication highlighting the problems encountered by staff schedulers who were using antiquated systems for managing rotating rosters. These outdated procedures were compared with the benefits gained from using online applications such as Chyma.

A second approach involved medical technology and health conventions in North America. Speaker panels were organized who presented keynote addresses to physicians explaining the problems associated with paper-based systems as compared to online systems. Online systems allow access to schedules anywhere at anytime alleviating laborious hours lost by administrative staff searching for an “on-call” physician for a specific shift.

To support this outreach, a medical advisory board of doctors was organized to provide feedback on technical issues, and to meet with the press for media interviews on radio, television and in newspapers. Press releases were issued on a regular basis when significant events were newsworthy.

  Crime Prevention Campaign

Need:

Following the founding of Crime Prevention Week and the honoring of two Solicitor General Awards, Mr Carmen Kilburn, the former Chairman of the New Brunswick Police Commission who drafted Canada’s Official Secrets Act, was interested in raising the profile of crime prevention internationally. Mr Kilburn had an extensive background in policing and knew first hand that prevention was the key to reducing crime. During his career he was awarded the Governor General’s Commemorative Medal for Outstanding Service, the Canadian Police Medal, the RCMP Long Service Medal and the Star of Courage. In 1995 he was honoured as Citizen of the Year in New Brunswick for his work in policing and in the community.

In memory of Mr Kilburn and in consultation with his family we are honoured to continue his efforts to provide field-tested programs in the field of crime prevention. We have expanded our programs to include support for Veterans and military suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) in conjunction with the David Lynch Foundation and Operation Warrior Wellness.

Enlightened Communications Solution:

A multi-tiered approach was designed to provide maximum exposure for crime prevention activities in government, throughout policing and through international agencies founded to reduce crime in society.  Fourteen speaking tours were organized in Canada, the United States and Europe. Presentations were made to senior elected officials in Justice and throughout the government and to NGOs concerned with impact of rising crime rate trends. Community group presentations were organized to promote the concepts of crime prevention, and crime prevention literature was archived for reference by request of a national police college Chief.

  Publications

  Need:

A glossy, national automotive magazine had been published for two years but needed to expand its readership and distribution channels.

Enlightened Communications Solution:

Three approaches were taken: First, a major supplier of auto parts in the industry was contacted about displaying the magazine in their retail outlets. Secondly, the national wholesale magazine distributor was contacted about boosting distribution in those cities where articles were appearing on local events and about local collectors and their cars encouraging them to increase the number of magazines available in their local stores and chains. Finally, a national supplier to the automotive industry was contacted with a proposal to offer this publication in their corporate stores as a means by which they could advertise their products direct to consumers. The nature of the magazine provided longer shelf life than traditional advertising flyers because enthusiasts keep the magazine for years to reference its technical articles.

  Leadership Seminar

  Need:

Groundbreaking Press designed a leadership seminar for managers and executives to learn the skills and knowledge needed to lead exceptional teams of individuals into the 21st Century. This seminar moves leaders beyond accepted management practices and turns management beliefs upside down with an entirely new perspective. CEO Brad Fregger required on short notice the services of two exceptional local businessmen who could deliver presentations on leadership to visiting businessmen from overseas.

Enlightened Communications Solution:

Enlightened Communications selected two prominent topics from Mr Fregger’s Leadership Seminar and then located outstanding experts in the fields of negotiation and in changing attitudes and perceptions among leaders. One guest speaker, the President from the SEI Group of Companies, which is a world leading manufacturer of products utilized in preventing and responding to natural and manmade emergencies, will address the skill of recognizing basic human behavior patterns that affect the outcome of all negotiations. The other speaker chosen is a consultant and business coach responsible for inspiring business leaders to prepare themselves to host a huge “sporting event” to be held in Vancouver in a few years that requires a massive mental shift to change perceptions and attitudes about the significant role each person plays in a city when hosting an event comparable to 1-3 Super Bowls per day for 17 days.

“Garry, you delivered speakers so far beyond my expectations that I just can’t believe it! Fantastic! Your networking skill is exceptional. You convinced me immediately of your ability to provide the perfect solution quickly.”

  Home Design and Construction

  Need:

Good Manors Development is a custom home designer and builder in Victoria, BC with a wide range of fine homes and satisfied customers. However, new customers were uncertain about the full range of design features available from the builder and it was easy to misunderstand visually abstract concepts by those unfamiliar with the construction trade.

Enlightened Communications Solution:

To visually illustrate the range of features available in custom home designs, a fold-out colour marketing brochure was created with photos of previous homes built by the firm. Each home was located on a driving map of the city so potential clients could tour the sites and choose specific design features they liked. Each photo included a description of its unique features and an address. The colour brochure was intended to help reduce cost overruns if construction concepts were initially misunderstood. Testimonials and addresses from satisfied clients were included, along with design awards and a message from the builder.
